The Holden Commodore's debut Club Enduro race

18 October 2020

With 2020 planned to be a year for data gathering and learning having to wait so long to take it on track was hard to stomach.  With authority to race in October approved, the Commodore was entered into Club Enduro Round 3 at the Snetterton 300 circuit.

Changing conditions during qualifying and a tyre choice gamble which never paid off saw the Holden starting in 33rd,  well out of position.  4 laps laps into the race however and the field had been carved up and the car taken forward 24 places to 9th (Click the image to see the opening laps); by the hour point the car had made it to 4th place!

Sadly, as is often the case in Motorsport, a mechanical issue intervened and the car was retired to allow the team to rectify the problem before it could become terminal.

A COVID delay saw a delay to the start of racing in 2020.  Snetterton 300 hosted five ASCR drivers take to the circuit to blow off the cobwebs prior to the 2020 Birkett Relay.

A strong qualifying performance from SSgt Dougie Inglis had him leading class D on the grid for the 45 minute endurance race.  Coming under intense pressure he succumbed 2 places but held out for a 3rd place.  This is slowly becoming a habit!

With the final round of the Armed Forces Race Challenge at Silverstone coming to a close, we can finally say we are CHAMPIONS!

A massive thank you to our sponsors,

MK Military Finance, MPEX

HILKA Tools and HEL Performance who without their continued support this achievement would not have been possible!

With a mixed team of novices, intermediate and experienced drivers and our impressive, hard working pit crews, we have achieved this win as a team for the team!
