As the season draws to a close, it's a moment of reflection for the Army Sports Car Racing Team. What a journey it has been, and I am thrilled to share the highlights and triumphs that define the success of this team in 2023.
Dominating the AFRC:
The ASCR team has showcased its prowess on the track, securing a phenomenal result by clinching 5 of the top 10 places in the Armed Forces Race Challenge (AFRC). A testament to the talent within our ranks, we are proud to announce that an Army Driver, Cfn Chandler "JC", has been crowned as the AFRC champion. It's not just a victory for the team but a recognition of the dedication and skill that our drivers bring to the track.
Talent Selection and Formidable Competition:
This season, the increase in our pool of drivers has given rise to more formidable competition. This has proven that our meticulous selection process is indeed a reliable measurement of talent. The diverse skills of our drivers have not only elevated individual performance but have also contributed to the overall success of the team.
Diving into the GT Category:
In a daring move, ASCR dipped a toe into the competitive waters of the GT category and emerged with silverware at every turn. The highlight of this endeavor was undoubtedly the Silverstone Festival, where the ASCR team showcased not only speed but also strategic prowess. This foray into a new category speaks volumes about the adaptability and skill set of our team.
EtR Support Opening New Doors:
The support from EtR (Engage to Recruit) has been a game-changer for ASCR. Not only has it provided opportunities for team members to attend events, but it has also opened doors for broader team opportunities, including financial support. Looking ahead to 2024, there are even more exciting prospects on the horizon, thanks to the continued partnership with EtR.
Progressing as the Pinnacle of Army Motorsports:
Under the guidance of our dedicated management and with the unwavering support of our team members, ASCR is emerging as the pinnacle of all Army Motorsports. Our success is not only seen on the racetrack but is gaining recognition in wider military areas. ASCR is becoming an ideal tool for promoting STEM aligned with sports and operational success. No other sport embraces EtR activities as much as ASCR, setting us apart in the world of motorsports.
The ASCR Spirit:
As the Team Principal, I am immensely impressed with what the team has achieved this year. Opportunities are growing, and the thirst for competition intensifies with each event. The professional level within the team is on a constant rise. ASCR is not just here to take part; we are here to win, whether it's a 20-minute sprint race or a 2-hour endurance race with a full pit crew and strategic challenges.
